Last week I and many others were cleaning out the closet and making way for new energy to arrive. I can happily say that I have already felt the positive effects from my little clearing out. I look forward to clearing out the rest of my place and inturn feeling the effects of my efforts.
The order of my taking care of business may be a little off but really when it comes down to it, I don’t think it matters. Whether you start by setting intentions and then clearing out or clearing out and then setting intentions, I don’t see that it matters. I don’t see things in regard to right or wrong. In hindsight you usually see how you could have done things differently and that’s great, next time, do that. Until then, don’t get too fussed about what comes first, just get started.
This clearing out and setting intentions all came about for me some weeks ago. I did a reading for myself, something I do every couple of months or at the start of a year, just to get some insight into what is happening and what is to come. If I am struggling with something, these readings usually shed some light on what I am needing from the experience. From this beginning of year reading, I felt that I needed more information so I booked myself in to see a local psychic/medium I see, to shed some extra light on the year ahead for me.
I have found that quite often on this road within, you start to wonder whether you are on the right track or whether other people are right about you and your path. I can say that no matter what makes me start to fall for other’s beliefs, I always come to remember why my thoughts and feelings about my path are the only ones that matter. I came away from this session realising that everything I have been experiencing is perfectly natural. That is, when you are on the road to self discovery it is not all rainbows and butterflies, although it is for me at times, but other times it is downright painful and I can fall flat on my face before I remember what is happening. I forget that during the process of letting go of the old, things will come up for acknowledgment and release.
One of the tips I got from this session was to clear out the old. This is what inspired last weeks Blog on ‘Making Way for New Beginnings’. Then yesterday I came across an article from someone in the health and wellbeing industry whom I admire, which talked of the importance of setting intentions. So that is what I have been up to today. I have left no stone unturned. It is funny as I had a feeling I needed to set intentions for the year but I was days past my deadline when I came across the said article.
I have been writing all day. I started on the computer but decided I needed to handwrite these intentions. I started with a list of all the areas of life which were important to me. This list for me includes work, home, relationships, financial status, personal health, leisure, spirituality and healing. I haven’t decided whether there is something to the order I have listed these things or not but I am sure if it is significant then it will come back up. Leisure was probably the area of life I made an effort to put in. I am usually so driven with what I want to achieve, that leisure gets put on the back shelf.
I have come to understand the importance leisure has on our frame of mind and thus our ability to attract that which we desire. To attract what you desire, you need to be transmitting a frequency equal to whatever it is you are trying to attract. I’m betting a stressed out, tired vibration is not the frequency you need to attract anything you might desire.
I am certainly not new at setting intentions, but I never thought to set them for a year. I can actually see the merit in setting shorter term goals. It makes you think about what it is you want but it also makes you think about setting realistic goals. Well I say that but I am not very good at setting realistic goals. I don’t tend to hold back when setting intentions. I mean that with all I know about the support given to us from life and spiritual beings, then how will we ever know what we are capable of unless we push the boundaries.
I see that the outlandish goals I put forth have me in the fetal position at times, but it is at those times I experience the deepest forms of growth so I am thankful for all experiences. I see all experiences bring our dreams to fruition in one way or another. At times I want to throw my dreams back where they came from, as the effort it takes to bring them forth can feel heartbreaking, but I know that in the end, as long as I keep going, the rewards will be well worth my while.
Be sure to be specific when setting your intentions and a tip from me is to write them out as if you are sitting down at the end of the year writing everything which has already happened. I find this is important. I also throw in lots of gratitude. I am so thankful for… You can’t imagine how amazing it felt to… I also write what happened and how it feels. I really get into it and I find this is the magic ingredient. Write out the relationships in your life, how they look and how they make you and the other people feel. Write from the heart and there is no way you can go wrong. Nothing derived from the heart is ever wrong.
Happy intention setting. I wish you the year of all years in your life so far. Be sure to put things in place which will support you during this time, a bit of fun, a bit of you time, a new experience here and there, but most of all be open to all these wonderful things finding their way to you.
